The big change from previous Castlevania games is the nonlinear style of gameplay. While Simon’s Quest was not linear, it was not the same as this. This is a game that has a much more Metroidvania game style. The whole castle is yours to explore, with blocked areas until you acquire certain powers. These powers include the ability to become a bat and high jump boots, among many others.
Every enemy you kill will reward you with ep, that accumulation makes you level up. This gives you more health and strength, making those old enemies look like nothing and making you look for new bigger monsters to kill. Now, normally, when a series of games that is not a role-playing game adds these things, it becomes too easy too fast or you have to enter a room just for enemies to use your blood as a new dynamic type of wallpaper. , this is a way of saying you’re not ready for this area yet. But Symphony of the Night does a good job of leveling you at a steady pace while exploring the castle.
The castle is huge, with areas in the sewers along with laboratories and libraries. Everything is very detailed and looks great. The rooms feel alive and different, while each enemy is very detailed and colorful. You instantly know which enemy is which once you see it. Castlevania Symphony of the night is one of my Android games for now. I love that they kept the series in 2D, accordingly. This allowed them to take the already surprising formula of Castlevania games and improve it further.
