Apple working to allow iPhones to act as POS terminals. According to a recent Reuters story, Apple is looking to launch an innovative service that will let businesses utilize iPhones to serve as POS (point of sale) terminals with no hardware requirements.
It is expected that the move will occur via a software upgrade within the next few months. It allows users to pay using NFC directly by placing their credit/debit cards on an iPhone and Apple Watch Bands on another iPhone. Now, it is yet to be determined whether this new feature will be a part of Apple Pay or if Cupertino will collaborate with existing payment processors.
